VETERAN radio personality and murder-accused, DJ Munya Milimo, has officially joined urban station ZiFM Stereo despite protests by people over his appointment.

ZiFM Stereo station manager Tendai Madondo confirmed their latest addition saying he started work last Saturday.

“DJ Munya started work last Saturday. His slot is between 10AM and 2PM where he hosts the Zi-World Chart Show. We’re trying him out before we make a decision about him. I can’t say how long his probation will be as the period varies with presenters,” said Madondo.

She said they were excited to have DJ Munya on board, describing him as a talented radio presenter.

The former Power FM and Star FM DJ takes over Kimble Rogers’s slot on Saturday.

ZiFM which had been accused of having double standards as it fired Tinopona “Tin Tin” Katsande over a sex tape – a lesser crime and hired DJ Munya, a murder suspect, said they had taken DJ Munya because of his expertise and not his personal life.

In 2013, the DJ was accused of kidnapping and killing a man he suspected of having an affair with his wife, but was put off remand this year and the court said the State could proceed by way of summons if it gathers enough evidence against him.
