THE Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) Company yesterday announced a change of dates for this year’s trade fair.

The international trade showcase, which had initially been set for between April 21 and 25, will now run from April 28 to May 2.

In a statement, the company said the 56th edition of the trade fair had been moved but did not give reasons.

“The Zimbabwe International Trade Fair Company would like to inform all exhibitors, visitors and delegates of the change of dates for this year’s exhibition. ZITF will now run from April 28 to May 2, 2015. We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” said the company.

Zambian President Edgar Lungu will officially open the trade fair.

ZITF marketing and public relations manager, Stella Nkomo, would not be drawn into explaining the change of dates.

“We’re going to issue out a press release soon stating the reasons why the dates have been shifted,” she said.

The new calendar indicates that April 28 to 30 would be set aside for business days while the official opening has been set for May 1.

Meanwhile, the trade fair would run concurrently with other exhibitions such as A’Sambeni Business Tourism Expo, Scholastica, PakPrint and Ultim8 Home.

This year’s showcase runs under the theme “Stimulating Trade . . . Seizing Opportunities to Accelerate Growth.”

In line with the theme, this year’s trade fair is expected to offer a prime platform for networking and opportunities to propel economic growth.

Countries like German, India, Malawi, Mozambique, Pakistan, Poland and South Africa have confirmed their participation at the trade fair.
