THE ZIMBABWE National Chamber of Commerce (ZNCC) will honour outstanding businesses in Matabeleland at an annual regional business awards event in Bulawayo this evening.A number of firms have been nominated for the prestigious awards for their resilience despite the difficult economic conditions.

The awards ceremony will be held at a local hotel under the theme “International Synergies, Local Competitiveness and Global Relevance — The Key to Addressing Zimbabwe’s Liquidity and Industrial Revolution”.

“The macro prudential state of the economy has been noted by the slow rate of business growth and inconsistence within the business sector.

“There are quite a number of companies that have managed to remain afloat, and as a chamber we believe this business practice needs to be recognised and celebrated,” said ZNCC.

It said the awards were meant to nurture a spirit of competitiveness, high standard of production and service delivery within the business environment of Matabeleland region.

“These awards are aimed at fostering a competitive culture within the industry. A culture founded on good workmanship, with prospects of ultimately translating to improved product and service delivery, thereby heightening the spirit of excellence in mundane business practice hence the theme for this year,” said ZNCC.

The event will also be a platform for upcoming business people to mix and mingle with businessmen and women who have also established themselves in the business community of Matabeleland said ZNCC.

“This is a night that will allow aspiring businesspeople to mingle with established businesspeople in pursuit for prospective partnerships and business,” it said.
