Zodwa Wabantu will likely not be visiting Zimbabwe in the near future after being barred from performing in the country by Government but all hope is not lost as her boss and “bestie”, DJ Tira will be coming next month.

DJ Tira who runs the successful Afrotainment record label in Durban, South Africa is expected to perform in Bulawayo on October 13 at Club Connect, the same club where Zodwa partied recently. The Afrotainment boos will be joined on the decks by resident DJs Crazy Black, Kead Wikead and Tbass.

He will be bringing more of the coastal town’s Gqom flavour at the club after a successful show over the weekend by other Durbanites, Distruction Boyz.

His visit will be special as Zimbabweans will have a taste of the Afrotainment album being released today in South Africa which features a song by Zodwa Wabantu and DJ Cndo, produced by Distruction Boyz. Other than the forthcoming album, Tira is riding on the popularity of his latest hit song isiCathulo.

The last time uMalume Bearings as DJ Tira is known performed in the city was at the Kalawa Homecoming party two years ago.

Tatenda Gwatidzo, Club Connect spokesperson said preparations for the show were going on well.

“Those who have an appreciation of house music know that DJ Tira is one of the finest DJs and it’s definitely a show not to be missed. At the weekend we had the Distruction Boyz who rocked the club and now we’re looking forward to Durban’s finest, DJ Tira’s set,” said Gwatidzo.

Advance tickets are already on sale and have been pegged at $10. On the day of the show, tickets will be pegged at $15.
