CASTLE Lager Premiership runners-up ZPC Kariba are set to unveil their new look Nyamhunga Stadium and are courting Chapungu for a friendly match. The power generators have been using Gwanzura Stadium in Harare as their home ground after the PSL condemned Nyamhunga as it did not meet the minimum standards to host a top flight league match.

The Kariba Town Council then embarked on the refurbishment exercise of the facility but could not finish as scheduled.

ZPC Kariba chairman Munyaradzi Nduna was hopeful of reaching an agreement with the airmen today for the game to be played on Saturday.

“We also want to use the match against Chapungu to thank the Kariba community for rallying behind us for the past season and we will use the match to assure them that next season we will not be travelling to Harare but that there would be watching their team at home,” he said.

“We are concluding everything with Chapungu with regards to the game,”

Nduna said the stadium renovations have not been completed but they have done the necessary adjustments recommended by the league so that it meets minimum PSL standards.

“The stadium has not been completed but that is not to say PSL matches for next season cannot be played as we have addressed what they had condemned.

“We are hoping that the stadium will be completed before the start of next season. Completion of the facility lies with the local authority,” Nduna said.
