THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) yesterday dismissed as false reports circulating on social media that they have embarked on a recruitment exercise. ZPCS acting public relations officer Superintendent Priscilla Mthembo said: “There has been false information circulating on social media purporting that the ZPCS is going to conduct a recruitment exercise at Ntabazinduna Prisons Training School from September 14 to 17.

“ZPCS would like to set it on record that no such recruitment exercise is taking place at Ntabazinduna Prisons Training School. “In the event of a recruitment exercise being conducted, the organisation advertises through the mainstream media such as newspapers, television and radio and not social media”.

An advertisement has been circulating on social media platforms inviting people between the ages of 18 and 30 years, holding five O Levels including English and Mathematics to Ntabazinduna for recruitment.

It also stated that successful candidates would pay at least $30 for chest X-rays. Supt Mthembo said people should watch out for individuals who are masquerading as ZPCS recruitment officers.

“Meanwhile, ZPCS would like to warn members of the public to be cautious of some individuals who might masquerade as ZPCS recruitment officers with the intention of fleecing them of their money,” she said.

Supt Mthembo said members of the public are advised to contact the ZPCS Public Relations office on 04-762724 or Staff Officer Human Resources on 04-777385 for any information pertaining to employment opportunities or prospects within the Service. — @winnie_masara
