FORMER Warriors and FC Platinum holding midfielder is reportedly on the verge of joining Zifa Southern Region Division One side Adachi.
Last season, the midfield enforcer was in the books of Caps United.
Contacted for a comment Adachi chairman Thandazani Zimbwa could neither confirm nor deny that they had roped in the seasoned player saying their head coach Johannes Ngodzo knows better about their recruitment exercise.
“Not that I know of. We have been conducting trials and Johannes Ngodzo is in charge of recruitment. He hasn’t submitted his list so maybe he (Kevin Madzongwe) is in our plans but Tshisa (Ngodzo) knows,” said Zimbwa.
Ngodzo , a former Highlanders and Warriors midfield genius was recently elevated to the position of head coach at Adachi.
The side has made some technical adjustments to their team which sees Philani “Beefy” Ncube who was head coach last season taking up the role of technical director.
Ngodzo was assistant to Ncube last season.
The new head coach rose to fame through the Highlanders junior ranks at the turn of the millennium, he was selected into the national team and it was at that age that the awards started coming.
He was awarded Player of the Year at the age of 15 with the Highlanders juniors that had played the whole 1995 season without tasting defeat.
They were coached by veteran Ali Baba Dube who has been credited with identifying the best talent in Bulawayo.
Adachi are bankrolled by Australia-based Adrian Mtungwazi through his company, Adachi Disability Services who at one time pledged to inject US$30 000 to Zimbabwe Saints.
Last season Adachi had the likes of seasoned goalkeeper Nonjabulo Dube formerly with How Mine and Bulawayo City, ex-Tsholotsho FC defender Thandolwenkosi Ncube, the quintet of former Bulawayo City players Elton Ndlovu, Welcome Ndiweni, Innocent Kutsanzira and Crispen Machisi.
Ex-Tsholotsho FC midfielder Ocient Ncube, former Triangle United utility player Spar Dube and striker Bothwell Nyathi, formerly with Highlanders were also at the club. – @FungaiMuderere.
