THE semi-final draw of the Townshend and Butcher Bulawayo Amateur Football Association tournament was conducted in the city yesterday.

The tournament kicks off on Sunday, with Safe Guard squaring off with Unity Village, while Anolle Castings face Nga Chronicle.

Zifa vice-president Omega Sibanda, who was guest of honour at the draw, said he was satisfied with how the tournament had helped develop football in the city.

“I want to express my gratitude to the sponsor for being with us for the past years. This league has produced some great players, so we are looking forward to more fruitful years with Townshend and Butcher. To the teams participating this year, I would like to encourage you to desist from any acts of violence.
Let us not destroy this brand and our league,” said Sibanda.

Tournament sponsor Peter Leondios said it has been a good journey working with Bafa for many years.

“It’s been good working with the Bafa league and we are looking forward to seeing this tournament grow big. It is a big achievement that the tournament has survived this long considering that it is amateur football,” said Leondios.

Winners of the tournament will walk away with a full football kit.
