THE City of Bulawayo is today set to unveil its Sustainability Monograph program at the large City Hall.
According to a statement from the council, the monograph sets an ambitious target of achieving a 40 percent reduction in emissions per capita.
This goal aligns with Zimbabwe’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) towards the global aim of reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
The bold move reflects the city’s commitment to tackling climate change and preserving the environment for future generations.
“As the City of Bulawayo aims to be a ‘Leading Smart Transformative City by 2025,’ we are taking initiatives to go green and preserve our environmental heritage,” read a statement.
The launch event is expected to draw attention from various stakeholders, including local environmental groups, community leaders, and citizens who are passionate about sustainability.
