BEITBRIDGE Eagles were crowned champions of the Matabeleland South Volleyball Association (MSVA) league finals held in Gwanda at the weekend.

The league started in September with men’s clubs playing out their respective district leagues. From there, the League finals were entered by top two teams that qualified from the four districts, Bulilima-Mangwe, Gwanda, Vhembe and Insiza.

The two teams from Bulilima-Mangwe could not travel to the finals, therefore their matches were forfeited.

For women teams, only three sides registered from the whole province so there were no district leagues. The teams were Gwanda High, GSU Cavaliers and Jessie Mine.

The men’s division had Beitbridge Eagles, Wolves, Jessie Mine, GSU Staff, GSU Cavaliers, Mangavha, VJM Spartans, Plumtree High, Gwanda High, Armed Force, Filabusi, Titans.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe Volleyball Association (ZVA) is preparing for the second edition of the Binga Beach Volleyball tournament set for the coming weekend.
