POLICE in Bulawayo are appealing for information that may assist in the location of relatives of an unidentified woman who was found dead last November near West Acre Shopping Centre.

In a statement, Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said the woman was found dead on November 7 last year.

The body was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals Mortuary. 

“Police in Bulawayo are appealing for information that may assist in the location of relatives of an unknown female adult who was found dead on the 7th of November 2019 between Klipspring farm and Bulawayo-Plumtree railway line near West Acre Shopping Centre,” said Insp Ncube.

“The now deceased is medium built, approximately 1,6m height and was wearing a red skirt and grey top, barefooted and a black woollen hat. Beside her body was an old black handbag with papers and a black cloth.”

He appealed to anyone with information that may lead to the location of the deceased’s relatives to contact the investigating officer, Constable Moyo Tawanda on 0773 454 174 or ZRP Nkulumane on (0292) 481145 or any nearest police station. 

Cases of unclaimed bodies are on the rise with police last week again appealing for information that may assist them in locating relatives of a 75-year-old man whose body has been stuck at Mpilo Central Hospital Mortuary since November 2 last year. 

The deceased who was identified as Langton Moyo or Luckson Phiri was hit by a car along Khami road in Bulawayo on September 25 last year, said the police in a statement.

He sustained head and hand injuries and was ferried to Mpilo Central Hospital where he was admitted and discharged on October 10.

However, the accident victim died while still waiting for his relatives to collect him.-@Desmond Ndazi.
