Bonang’s House of BNG wine snapped up BONANG “Queen B” Matheba

BONANG “Queen B” Matheba this week launched a luxury MCC (Méthode Cap Classique) sparkling wine under her House of BNG brand at an exclusive event at Waterfall Estate in Johannesburg.

Known as the “Champagne Queen”, Bonang made a specific decision to make an MCC with Cape grapes rather than a champagne (made from region-specific French grapes) and the House of BNG was born.

“We have some of the world’s best grapes here in South Africa and so I decided to make a Méthode Cap Classique wine – which is made in exactly the same way as champagne but using Cape grapes.

“This is my love letter to Africa and I’m excited to introduce it to the world,” said Queen B.

Within hours of the Bonang MCC Brut and Brut Rosé hitting the shelves at Woolworths Food where it is being exclusively sold, fans had already bought every single bottle.

The radio and TV personality who worked on the MCC for more than two years was spotted dancing around enthusiastically at her event when she first heard the news. Celebrities including Mshoza, Boity Thulo, K.Naomi, Somizi, Nadia Nakai and Mihlali Ndamase were at the launch.

Speaking to The Juice, she confirmed that indeed the MCC sold out on its first day.

“You heard right. It’s out of stock and I want to die,” she said, unable to contain her excitement.

Asked how many bottles had been availed to the public, Bonang said about 20 000 were availed online adding that they were working on replenishing the stock. — Online .
