Bosso fans ignore call for second BF boycott

CALLS for fans to boycott the Highlanders versus Green Fuel FC match at Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon were heeded by a few as the clubhouse was virtually empty at least 20 minutes before the game.
The call for another boycott follows the first boycott of a match pitting Bosso against ZPC Kariba last month that turned out successful after fans converged at the clubhouse and snubbed BF.
Earlier in the week, organisers of yet another boycott have been calling on fans not to attend the game at BF but instead head to the clubhouse.
The boycott calls were being pushed on social media platforms.
Less than 30 minutes before the Bosso match this afternoon, a Chronicle news crew passed through the clubhouse enroute to BF.
A desk had been set up for fans to pay the same amount that they would fork out at BF.
For instance a fan who traditionally sits at the Soweto Stand was expected to pay US$3 at the clubhouse.
But there were a few takers for the boycott as evidenced by the few fans that showed up at the clubhouse.
An overzealous security guard at the clubhouse tried to bar a Chronicle photographer from capturing pictures of the empty clubhouse.
He insisted that the news crew should get authoritisation from the organisers of the boycott before taking pictures.
