A 31-YEAR-OLD man from Mbundane in Bulawayo has been arraigned for raping two women.
The man cannot be named to protect the identity of the victims, appeared before the Bulawayo Western Commonage magistrate Mrs Sibongile Marondedze who remanded him in custody until November 1.
According to the State case presented by Ms Melisa Dube, the accused committed the offence sometime in July this year, where he raped two females, one of them a juvenile.

Ms Dube told the court that the accused lied to the complainant that he could help her secure a job as a tech assistant specialising in repairing computers and phones, by training her.
“Sometime in July 2024 the accused person called the complainant and asked to meet her at his place of residence in Mbundane suburb where they could start the training for the job he had offered to the complainant,” said Ms Dube.

Ms Dube said the complainant and the accused were communicating through the phone until they met.
She said on the day in question the accused took the complainant into his bedroom and raped her twice.
“We were communicating on the phone until I went to his house. When I arrived he took me into his room saying that it was where he was going to teach me. Inside the room he forced me to remove my clothes and raped me. I could not scream as he had told me not to scream or he was going to kill me and no one was going to know,” said the complainant in court.

On another count the court heard that the accused raped another complainant in a secluded area in Rangemore.
“The complainant was walking along Sunsight farm road when she meet the accused person. As she was walking the accused person followed her and dragged her to the bush where he removed his trousers to knee level whilst his t-shirt was rolled up “said Ms Dube.
The matter come to light when one of the complainants confided with her parents who reported the matter to the police leading to the arrest of the man.
