TONIGHT, the city of Bulawayo will come alive with the sound of worship and praise as “Worship Invasion,” a highly anticipated Gospel Concert, takes place at the Wealthy Word Church.

The event promises to be a transformative evening of worship, drawing together a diverse team of worshippers from various denominations in a shared celebration of faith.

Hosted by esteemed ministers Robson Sipholi Moyo and Prosper Dube, “Worship Invasion” will feature performances from notable artistes such as Ministers Siza Mdlongwa, Snowy, and Mtha.

The concert will be held in the centrally located Wealthy Word International Church, which can accommodate up to 500 attendees.

According to organisers, this venue, situated along Robert Mugabe Road and between 10th and 11th Avenue, was chosen for its accessibility, ensuring that all who wish to participate can easily attend.

“This concert is all about inter-denominational praise and worship. Our objective is to create an environment where believers come together to invite the presence of God, transcending the boundaries of individual denominations,” explained Moyo in a recent interview with Saturday Leisure.

The gig buttresses the rise of the gospel music genre in Zimbabwe, which has been remarkable over the years. With an increasing number of artistes and events dedicated to spreading the message of Christianity through song, the genre has gained traction, serving not only as a platform for spiritual expression but also as a means of community building among believers.

Minister Mtha

Moyo emphasised the importance of unity within the body of Christ.

“We want to create a space where musicians, pastors, and congregants can come together. Our hope is that ‘Worship Invasion’ will be a catalyst for more events like this, fostering a culture of collaboration and celebration in the gospel music community.”

Minister Prosper

Moyo noted that ticket sales for the gig began in August and have seen a positive response, with Early Bird tickets selling out quickly before the offer expired on September 30. Additionally, “Worship Invasion” organisers have added T-shirts to the mix, allowing attendees to take a piece of the experience home with them.

Moyo said, “We have a dedicated team of ushers and security personnel to ensure that everything runs smoothly. Our hosting team will assist guests at points of entry and seating, making the experience as enjoyable as possible.”

As the concert approaches, the hosts have a clear message they hope to convey: “Jesus Christ is Lord. Come, let’s worship Him together.” This sentiment encapsulates the heart of Worship Invasion — a desire to create an inclusive atmosphere where all can join in worship, regardless of their denominational background.

The concert is not merely about music; it is a call to unity and a reminder of the shared faith that binds the Christian community.

Moyo explained, “The concept is not about competing with other concerts. We’re here to learn from each other and have fun.

This is an invitation to everyone who seeks a deeper worship experience.”

With hopes of hosting regular editions of the gig, the organisers envision a future where events could potentially be free to the audience, making worship accessible to all.

“Our long-term goal is to create a space where everyone can come and worship without financial barriers,” Moyo concluded.
