THE Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) would host a half day business convention in Bulawayo tomorrow aimed at discussing and providing insight into the challenges facing the economy.

Stakeholders in the business community have been invited to attend the gathering, which will cover a range of economic topics.

In a notice ICAZ said the event was specifically organised for business players and other stakeholders as a means for analysing, sharing views and expertise whilst bringing together principal thought leaders to provide insightful guidance on how to address challenges being faced by the economy.

Topics to be covered include governance of parastatals and the public sector. Mr Dumisani Sibanda, managing director at C Gauche and public sector consultant would be lead discussion on this category.

United Refineries chief executive officer and past Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries (CZI) president, Mr Busisa Moyo, will lead the discussion on protectionism focusing on manufacturing capacity utilisation.

This session would seek to evaluate whether capacity utilisation has gone up or down post S.I.64 of 2016. Lawyer, former minister and Senator, David Coltart, will lead discussion on the importance of transparency and accountability for economic prosperity. The event would be held at local hotel from 8AM to 1PM.
