Calm in Hwange camp, ahead of Sheasham game

CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League returnees Hwange have allayed fears that all is not well in their camp amid revelations that the club’s executive members held a meeting with members of the technical team to iron out a few issues.
The Chipangano executive met the Bongani Mafu led technical team at the Colliery Stadium in a development that raised a lot of eyebrows in the soccer crazy mining community on Tuesday .
As a result, there were some unfounded reports that went on to suggest that Mafu, Nation Dube and Try Ncube among other members of the Chipangano technical bench were about to be shown the exit.
Mafu is the outfit’s technical manager in a set up that has Dube and Ncube as the head and assistant coaches respectively.
However, while admitting that the club has not been performing well, Hwange chairman Nairos Deredzai said there was nothing amiss with the meeting they held with their gaffers.
“All is fine in our camp. We are a united team. We usually hold a meeting with our coaches on a weekly basis to hear their side of their story. We review games and the team’s performances with them. The technical team is still intact as we look forward to doing well against Sheasham. We are in the drop zone, we don’t want to be relegated. Hwange is a big brand that cannot continuously go in and out of the Premier Soccer League,” said Deredzai.
Ahead of their game against PSL newboys Sheasham set for tomorrow at Bata Stadium, the coal miners are on position 11.
They are tied on 24 pints equally troubled Bulawayo Chiefs and ZPC Kariba.
Hwange, who had a bright start to their campaign, have so far posted six wins, the same number of draws and eight defeats.
Sheasham are fourth from the bottom with 20 points.
