Chikuhwa deserves call up: Zenzo Moyo

FORMER Zimbabwe international, Zenzo Moyo, has joined the chorus calling for Lynoth Chikuhwa’s inclusion in the Warriors squad, citing his impressive goal-scoring form in the local league as basis for his call-up.
Chikuhwa, the country’s top scorer with 16 goals, has been surprisingly left out of the national team, sparking heated debates among football fans and former players.
Moyo spoke on Chikuhwa’s exclusion saying he should at least be getting a call-up.
“Chikuhwa has really done well this season. There’s no way he can score all those goals if he’s not talented.
“At least a call-up will be enough. Yes, there are a lot of aspects he needs to work on, but he should at least be in the squad.
“However, he must keep his head high and continue working hard,” said Moyo.
Chikuhwa leads the scoring list followed by Khama Billiat who has scored 13 goals while Willam Manondo is on 12 goals.
He sadly will not be part of the next Warriors assignments.
The Warriors will play host to Kenya at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday evening before flying out to Cameroon for the final Group J match four days later.
The Warriors, who are second in Group J, need to avoid defeat against Kenya to snatch the remaining ticket for next year’s Afcon finals to be held in Morocco.
Cameroon were the first team to qualify from the group after beating Kenya back-to-back and taking their tally to 10 points during the last window.
Zimbabwe on the other hand also collected maximum points in their two games against Namibia to reinforce their place behind group leaders Cameroon, on eight points.
Kenya, on four points still have a good chance to resuscitate their hopes should they win their remaining two games against Zimbabwe and Namibia.
And, with Zimbabwe needing just a point against the Kenyans to seal their place at the Afcon finals to be held in Morocco next year, Nees said he will not leave anything to chance.
Zimbabwe will play the final Group J qualifying match against already qualified Cameroon at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on November 19.
