A 38-YEAR-OLD from Mapinga, Mashonaland West has been charged with attempted murder after stabbing a 24-year-old co-worker following a dispute over a belt.
On 24 October 2024, Loyd Banda and the unnamed complainant were washing chrome ore at the Tramore farm site around 8 am.
Banda asked the complainant to hand over his belt, but the young man refused saying it belonged to his brother.
This angered Banda who picked up a knife from the ground and stabbed the complainant in the stomach.
The complainant suffered a deep cut, and Mapinga was arrested.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, “Loyd Banda (38) from Mapinga, was brought before the Chinhoyi Magistrates’ Court facing charges of attempted murder.
