AT the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF), in April, Cimas Health Group was on a cookery drive to enhance health, resulting in a cookbook being produced.
Last Friday, the largest private medical aid society in the country celebrated a significant milestone with the launch of the iGo Recipe Book at Borrowdale Office Park in Harare.
The event brought together health professionals, colleagues from Cimas, valued partners, and members of the media to kick off this vital initiative aimed at promoting healthy cooking and eating.
Dr Willmore Kapuyanyika, Head of iGo, opened the proceedings with a warm welcome, thanking attendees for their presence despite their busy schedules.
He emphasised the importance of the recipe book as a comprehensive guide, created by Cimas’ nutrition and culinary arts experts, aimed at helping individuals enjoy healthy meals in their own kitchens.
“The iGo Recipe Book is easy to understand, and through it, we seek to continue promoting healthy eating habits, providing nutritional guidance, and offering meal ideas for those looking to improve their diet and overall well-being,” Dr Kapuyanyika stated.
The recipe book is designed for cooks of all levels and includes step-by-step instructions, informative guides, and a variety of easy-to-follow recipes.
Dr Kapuyanyika highlighted that the initiative aligns with Cimas’ purpose to inspire healthier communities and is crucial in the fight against non-communicable diseases such as heart failures, diabetes, and obesity.
The launch also marked the introduction of a new mobile kitchen equipped with modern cooking equipment, a transformative step for Cimas Health Group.
This mobile kitchen will enable the organisation to extend its nutrition education and health-conscious culinary practices into communities, enhancing accessibility to healthy living resources.
Dr Kapuyanyika explained, “The mobile kitchen will play a central role in health awareness events, corporate wellness programs, and initiatives aimed at cultivating a culture of healthy living.
Our soon-to-open Vanpragh facility will also feature an advanced iGo kitchen, underscoring our commitment to holistic well-being.”
Since its inception in 2016, iGo has focused on preventive health and lifestyle modification, encouraging members to make informed decisions that reduce the incidence of diseases.
Dr Kapuyanyika reiterated the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits, stating, “We are dedicated to empowering individuals to live healthier lives by providing them with the knowledge and necessary information for balanced nutrition and overall well-being.”
The iGo Recipe Book is available in both digital and physical formats, making it a must-have resource for anyone looking to embark on a culinary adventure that prioritises health and wellness.
As the event concluded, Dr Kapuyanyika thanked all attendees, reinforcing Cimas Health Group’s commitment to promoting healthy living.
“Eating right and exercising are the keys to a healthy lifestyle. Enjoy your culinary adventures with the iGo Recipe Book. iGo equals wellness,” he concluded.
With this launch, Cimas Health Group takes a significant step forward in its mission to inspire healthier communities across Zimbabwe. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
