SIX top academic achievers from Mhali Primary School, one boy and five girls, have been awarded bursaries by City Link Coaches.
The luxury bus company will pay school fees for the six outstanding pupils for the 2025 academic year.
Mhali Primary School held its 24th Prize Giving Ceremony on Tuesday morning.
City Link Coaches, a leader in providing reliable, safe, and comfortable coach services said the company decided to reward the top achievers by launching a corporate social responsibility initiative to sponsor the full school fees of 60 talented primary school students in Bulawayo.
The other nine schools whose young beneficiaries will be awarded the bursaries will be announced in due course.
The 60 beneficiaries were selected from the schools’ overall grade winners from this year’s third-term examinations.
“At City Link Coaches, we believe in investing in the future of our nation. By supporting these bright young minds, we hope to inspire them to reach their full potential and contribute positively to society,” said Ms Edith Dube, the City Link Coaches’ Bulawayo regional manager.
“It is an honour to recognise these talented young students and contribute to their educational journey. We hope this initiative will motivate them to continue striving for excellence,” said Ms Dube.
Mhali Primary School headmaster, Mr Gift Ngwenya thanked City Link Coaches for the generous gesture.
“This sponsorship will significantly alleviate the financial burden on many of our students and their families,” said Mr Ngwenya.
“It is a testament to the company’s commitment to education and community development. We are truly grateful for their support and look forward to seeing our students excel even further,” he said.
City Link Coaches plans to extend this initiative to other schools in Bulawayo and potentially nationwide, demonstrating its ongoing commitment to education and community development.
