The village of Tinde in Binga has been gripped by anxiety and trepidation as the family of Mbonisi Moyo, a dedicated benefactor of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party, expresses grave concerns over his safety and whereabouts.

Moyo, a staunch supporter of the opposition political party who has been actively involved since 2008, has mysteriously vanished, leaving his loved ones in a state of distress and uncertainty.

A distraught relative, speaking on condition of anonymity due to security concerns, shared poignant insights into Moyo’s unwavering commitment to the CCC and his pivotal role within the party.

“Mbonisi’s passion for the CCC ran deep; he was a generous sponsor of party events and fundraising activities in the Matabeleland region,” the relative revealed, highlighting Moyo’s close collaboration with prominent figures such as Binga North MP Prince Dubeko Sibanda and losing CCC candidate Themba Mabhena of Bubi constituency.

However, the relative disclosed that Moyo’s steadfast allegiance to the CCC and his active participation in rural mobilization initiatives led by Nonhlanhla Mlotshwa had drawn the ire of adversaries in Binga.

“Mbonisi became a target in Binga due to his involvement with the CCC, facing multiple arrests and intimidation tactics,” the family member recounted, shedding light on the escalating hostilities directed towards Moyo.

The situation took a sinister turn when Moyo’s family fell victim to unprovoked attacks by unidentified assailants, raising concerns about their safety and the wellbeing of their missing relative.

Despite frantic efforts to locate Moyo at police stations and hospitals, the family has been met with a disheartening absence of information, prompting them to reach out to the public for assistance in locating their beloved patriarch.

“It pains us to admit that Mbonisi is currently missing, and we are unsure if he is in hiding or has been unlawfully detained,” the family spokesperson expressed, echoing the anguish and desperation of those left in limbo by Moyo’s inexplicable disappearance.

The family’s heartfelt appeal for support in tracing Mbonisi Moyo underscores the pressing need for solidarity and swift action to ensure his safe return and dispel the shadow of uncertainty that looms over Tinde village in Binga.
