Cresta Oasis Hotel in Harare have reintroduced “Sundowner Nights” aimed at providing quality entertainment starting from Wednesdays right through to Fridays.
There has not been any activity at the hotel for the mature patrons who after knocking off from work had to either gaze at the plasma screen in the pub or just relax somewhere in the garden.
But with the new arrangement, Cresta Oasis have engaged Harare’s popular entertainment company, Huggies Entertainment, to make sure that Sundowner Nights will never be the same again.
Through their line up of veteran disc jockeys the likes of Kudzi “Mr Kool” Marudza, Witness “Chuman” Matema, Ronald “D-Train” Chiwanza and Webster “Webber” Brandy, the guys are set to bring “old skool” flavours to patrons. “Each one of the Huggies Entertainment DJs will have a special Friday whereby they play old skool music starting from as early as 6:30pm until 11:30pm.
“So beginning this Friday (today) there is going to be Mr Kool rocking the decks before he joins the rest of the guys at East 24 where big things are still going on.
“The next Friday will be Chuman’s turn and the rest of us but there is a twist to this. We are also going to rope in “Girl Power”, Bridget Gavanga and Tendai Chakanyuka who will play during the Sundowner Nights,” D-Train, who is the managing director of Huggies Entertainment said.
He said besides Huggies Entertainment, there were other programmes on the Sundowner Nights that will be hosted by Comfort Mbofana and Hilton Mambo every Wednesday night while Thursdays are reserved for karaoke nights.
Asked whether Huggies Entertainment have terminated their contract with East 24, D-Train said they had a full year contract at the open-air spot.
“The party continues at East 24 and there is nothing going to stop us now. We still have a valid one-year contract at the joint so let the good times roll,” he said.
Elsewhere, at Club Warehouse, there is going to be rhumba non-stop featuring Vevela and the Best of all Labien Musica on stage. Check out their new dance, its crazy and out of this world.
