A ZIMPLOW director has appeared in court after running into $2 400 in maintenance arrears.

Bulawayo magistrate Mr Tinashe Tashaya ordered Stanley Ndlovu of Hillside suburb last November to pay $1 200 maintenance per month for the upkeep of his two children who are in primary school after being dragged to court by his wife Mrs Enesia Ndlovu.

Yesterday, Mrs Ndlovu told the court that she wanted the money to be garnished from her husband’s salary because he was defaulting.

Mr Tashaya granted Mrs Ndlovu a garnishee order including for the $2 400 in outstanding maintenance payments.

“A garnishee order is directed to deduct $1 200 per month from the respondent’s salary starting from this month end. The garnishee is further directed to deduct $100 per month until the arrears of $2 400 are cleared,” he said.

In November last year Ndlovu, who earns $7 100 per month, was taken to court by his wife demanding $1 700 for herself and their two minor children.

However, Ndlovu was said to be taking home less than                 $1 800 every month because of loan and company deductions.

“Zimplow is deducting $2 558 every month from his salary because he allegedly misused company funds when he was sent to attend a workshop in China,” said Mrs Ndlovu.

“He is also paying $500 monthly for a staff loan. Old Mutual is also deducting $234 per month. The total amount for all deductions is $5 419 per month.”

The court heard that last year, Mr Tashaya ordered Ndlovu to pay $622 spousal maintenance and $578 for his two children.
