The third edition of the Outfitters Fest brought together fashion enthusiasts and “mswenko” lovers at Hartsfield Tshisanyama last Saturday, affirming Bulawayo’s reputation as a hub for cutting-edge style and creativity.

Outfitters Fest is more than a fashion showcase – it’s a celebration of fashion, culture, and music. It provides a platform for designers to display their creativity, musicians to gain recognition, and local brands to exhibit their merchandise on the runway.

Founded in 2023 by Aunty Tev, Thee Source, AK the Great, Gugu, Vega Smalls, and Rise of Kings and Queens, the festival has quickly grown into a premier event for emerging talent, innovation, and cultural exchange. Its debut took place in August 2023 at the same venue, with a follow-up edition in December.

This year’s edition featured an impressive line-up of brands, including Believe Apparel, Stars 29, Sukhavad, Juluka, SkucciWrld, Blackapes, Allsmiles, Newimage Kingdom, Richardjeans, Dreamsreality, and Stolen_pieces.

Musical entertainment was in full swing, with DJ Wele, AK the Great, Vega Smalls, Young Pops, and Aunty Tev on the decks. Live performances by Madd Dogg, Op Lucci, Curtis, Dee Rover, Sway tha Heartbreaker, Israel, Raynon, Absoll Luz, and host Mastanda added to the vibrant atmosphere, with Mastanda hyping the crowd with dance and high-energy interactions.

Aunty Tev, one of the festival’s founders, shared the vision behind the event.

“We envision Outfitters Fest as a catalyst for creativity, self-expression, and social impact, empowering attendees to make a positive difference in their communities and the city. The energy, creativity, and passion for fashion at this year’s edition were palpable, and we can’t wait to build on this momentum in future editions,” said Aunty Tev.

Alan Hlatshwayo, the chief executive officer of Believe Apparel, applauded the initiative, highlighting its role in fostering meaningful collaborations within the creative industry.

“We’re incredibly grateful to have been part of this event in our beloved city. It was heartwarming to connect with our community, celebrate local talent, and feel the support that’s been crucial to our journey. At Believe Apparel, we’re not just about fashion – we’re about inspiring confidence and authenticity,” said Hlatshwayo.

The Outfitters Fest continues to set the stage for innovative talent and cultural exchange, with plans to grow its influence and impact in future editions.
