EcoSure gives away cooking utensils in ‘Mabhodho Promotion’ Mr Godwin Mashiri

EcoCash Holdings’ life insurance business, EcoSure, has given away cooking utensils worth thousands of US dollars to burial societies across the country in the “Mabhodho Promotion”.

The EcoSure Mabhodho Promotion is a package from Zimbabwe’s largest life insurance company (by policyholders) to give back and empower Burial Societies and Clubs with handy utensils such as three-legged cast iron pots (Mabhodho), metal plates, cups, pots, 8,5litre belly pots, 12,5litre belly pots and 30 litre catering pots.

To qualify for the promotion, Burial Societies and other social groups simply need to register at least 20 members or more onto the EcoSure USD policy and pay premiums for a minimum of six months. After that they get their free utensils.

The promotion is also rewarding individual customers with guaranteed airtime when they sign up on any USD package via the *900# short code and pay their full premiums for six months. To date, EcoSure has given away over 34 three-legged pots, 1400 cups, 1400 plates and over 30 catering pots to burial societies in Harare and Manicaland.

More than 50 burial societies, including Nyamutsitsi Burial Society from Chimanimani, Chitungo in Honde Valley, AFM Dangamvura Central in Mutare, Mari Burial Society in Makoni, Real Success Burial Society, Glenview RCZ and Tanaka Tapinda Burial Society in Harare, among others have so far benefitted from the popular scheme.

EcoSure, which is Zimbabwe’s leading life insurance firm, currently covers over 7 000 Clubs and Burial Societies, which were formed to allow members to support each other in cases of a bereavement.

Mr Godwin Mashiri, Econet Life’s Chief Life & Principal Officer, said the company believes in empowering and transforming Burial Societies through the assets.

“We are not only giving the cooking utensils to be used at funerals, as a way to say thank you to Burial Societies for their loyalty and support, but we are also empowering them to generate income through hiring out the assets at functions and events or whenever a member of the group loses their dependents,” he said.

Mr Mashiri said EcoSure will soon be moving across the country’s 10 provinces to hand over prizes to winners.

“The EcoSure Mabhodho promotion is still open and Burial Societies have up to the 7th of September to qualify to get free utensils,” he added.

EcoSure, whose funeral life cover ranges from as low as $0,50 per month with pay-outs of up to US$5 000, has over the past few years come up with innovative products that provide peace of mind in the present by providing a comprehensive plan for the future. The company’s products and services compassionately tackle issues that most people try not to think about.

EcoSure leverages technology and other business units within the EcoCash Holdings ecosystem to give millions of people a reliable plan for the unexpected by reducing the financial burden a funeral may later present.

The company has several products such as Twala Sonke, Hospital Cashback, MicroEmployer, Personal Accident Cover, EcoSure Memorial Benefit, EcoSure Rescue Services, EcoSure Tombstone, EcoSure Bus, EcoSure tents and toilets, and Enda Education.
