PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has warned individuals who might want to capitalise on the Covid-19 vaccine to make profits, saying access to the vaccine is a human right which should be accessed for free.
This comes as the Government’s nationwide vaccination programme, which is in phase one and currently targeting frontline workers, the security sector and members of the media, is in full swing with people voluntarily receiving the antigen free of charge.
Posting on his Twitter page, President Mnangagwa said no citizen should pay to be vaccinated.
“Access to the COVID-19 vaccine is a human right, and no Zimbabwean should have to pay to be protected. Any individual caught profiteering from the vaccination programme shall be prosecuted accordingly,” he said.
In his address to the nation on Monday, President Mnangagwa reiterated that the vaccination programme should be free of charge.
