Organised by Sibonginkosi Dube and Brian Mukoyi, the tournament aims to promote netball development and provide a platform for young players to showcase their talent. The event is being held under the theme “A Fight Against Teenage Pregnancies.”

The top three teams will receive cash prizes, medals, and trophies. Individual prizes will also be awarded and all participating teams will receive playing kit and match balls to take home.

According to Dube, the main objective of the tournament is to support the fight against teenage pregnancies and drug abuse. “As a coach, I saw it fit to host this inaugural tournament in dedication to the Girl Child and to assist in keeping a database of upcoming players,” she said.

Mukoyi, the event director, expressed his excitement about the tournament, saying it promises to be an exciting event. “Preparations are complete, and we are ready to kick off. We are grateful for the support of the Zimbabwe Netball Association and the Bulawayo community,” he said.

The tournament is seen as a platform to identify and nurture young talent, providing a succession plan for netball development in the country. The organizers plan to make the tournament an annual event.
