The main aim of the awards is to celebrate those excelling in the community, with a particular focus on the youth.
A notable increase in drug and substance abuse cases among the youth has been confirmed, and these awards serve as a way to motivate young people to stay off the streets and strive to improve their lives.
An online platform for voting for the best community candidates has been set up, with the voting deadline on 18 December. The link for voting is provided below:

The team behind the awards includes Comfort Ncekuyenkosi Mpofu, the project manager, and Jutar Mpofu, who are working tirelessly alongside Celebrity Breeze to ensure the first edition of the EMA is a success.

In an interview, Comfort Mpofu said these awards will serve as a motivation for the community to continuously improve.
“These prestigious awards are designed to ignite a spark of motivation within every community member, while shining a spotlight on the incredible talent that has been waiting to be discovered. Marking the beginning of an exciting new tradition, the Entumbane Merit Awards will become an annual celebration of excellence, inspiring a brighter future for generations to come,” said Mpofu.
The stars of Entumbane will shine brighter than ever before on 23 December 2024, as the community comes together for a night of glamour and celebration at the Entumbane Merit Awards.

The prestigious event, taking place at the Entumbane Hall, promises to be an unforgettable experience, complete with a red carpet entrance, live music, thrilling dance performances, and plenty of entertainment to keep the excitement going all night long.
As the community’s brightest stars gather to recognise and reward outstanding achievements, the evening is sure to be filled with laughter, applause, and plenty of memorable moments.
