Entertainment personality Michelle Ngwenya dies

YOUTHFUL entertainment personality and youth advocate Michelle Ngwenya has died after a short illness. She was 28.
Michy, as she was fondly known, was a key figure in the Pumula Royal Arts and Community Awards (Praca), which have been instrumental in recognising and honouring creatives and individuals making an impact in the communities of Pumula and beyond. In a statement, one of the Praca organisers, Happy Mpofu, expressed their deep sorrow over Ngwenya’s death.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Michelle Ngwenya, a beloved colleague, respected entertainment industry personality, and dedicated youth advocate. Michelle passed away in the early hours of today, 6 August.
“Michelle was a shining star at Praca and Home of Arts Entertainment, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of everyone she touched. Her passion for developmental issues and advocacy, particularly among the youth, inspired countless individuals to take action and make a difference,” said Mpofu.

“Her dedication to empowering young people and her tireless efforts to create positive change in the community will be deeply missed. Michelle’s passing has left a void in the hearts of her colleagues, friends, family, and the youth she tirelessly supported.
“We will deeply miss Michelle’s vibrant spirit, creativity, kindness, and infectious energy. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, loved ones, and all those who were fortunate enough to know her.”
Mpofu said that they will keep the creative industry informed about the burial arrangements after paying their condolences to the family.
“Funeral arrangements will be announced in due course as we are going to pay our respects today, Tuesday,” he said.
