FC Platinum to travel to Madagascar for first leg Norman Mapeza

ZIMBABWEAN Premier Soccer League champions FC Platinum were yesterday drawn against Cnaps from Madagascar in the Total Caf Champions League preliminary round that gets underway later this month.

Pure Platinum, who were knocked out in the first stage last season by Angolan giants Club de Agosto, will start their African sojourn on the road before hosting the Malagasy outfit a week later.

If they put aside the challenge of their preliminary round opponents, Norman Mapeza might see his troops returning to Luanda, Angola, to face Agosto who themselves were drawn against Congo Brazzaville outfit As Atoho in the preliminary round.

The Zimbabwean side, who retained their league title last week following a 1-0 victory over relegated Shabanie Mine, will most certainly be relishing their chances against the unheralded Malagasy outfit that has participated twice in the Caf Champions League in which they were knocked out in the preliminary stages on both occasions.

Like the preliminary stage, Pure Platinum will get their first round encounter on the road.
