ZIFA Southern Region Division One side FC Talen Vision are set to conclude their player recruitment exercise by the end of this month.
This was revealed by the club’s chairman Elton Sinyosi saying their preparations for the forthcoming 2025 season have been moving smoothly.
“Things are moving smoothly. We are still building a team, and we haven’t finalised our squad. That will be done by the end of this month,” said Sinyosi.
He added: “We recently engaged in a player bonding exercise at Filabusi’s Cala area. There is an ideal ground, players and coaches have their camping rooms. They are enjoying their comfort there because the place has a WiFi connection. I think it’s an ideal place that will help the players and coaches focus on what they want to achieve this season.”
Late last year the Filabusi-based side appointed ex-Arenel Movers coach Kudzayi Mhandire to head their technical bench.
Mhandire took over from Golding Dube and is assisted by Lovert Mabunda.
FC Talen Vision will compete for the region’s top honours against Bulawayo Chiefs, Zimbabwe Saints, Adachi, Nkayi United and Plumtree based Mainline among other clubs.
Bulawayo Chiefs have already signed Malvin Mkolo and Kevin Madzongwe among other seasoned players.
Mkolo and Madzongwe retraced to Amakhosi Amahle from Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Simba Bhora and Southern Region Division outfit Zebra Revolution respectively.
Veteran gaffer Maxwell Takaendesa Jongwe was a few weeks ago appointed head coach at Chiefs and he has Bekithemba “Super” Ndlovu as his assistant.
On the other hand, former PSL side Zimbabwe Saints roped in experienced Philani “Beefy” Ncube as their new gaffer.
Last season, the outspoken Ncube was with Arenel Movers who were eventually relegated from the country’s elite football league.-@FungaiMuderere
