THE first Zimbabwean team to participate in the World Robot Olympiad leaves tomorrow morning for Turkey where they are set to attend the international robotics competition that is held annually.

The national organisers of the event Girls in STEM Trust led by national coordinator and executive director Ms Victoria Nxumalo paid a courtesy call to the Ministry of Information Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services offices on Monday where they met ICT Minister Dr Tatenda Mavetera, ICT Deputy Minister Dingumuzi Phuti and ICT permanent secretary Dr Beulah Chirume.

As the head of the delegation Ms Nxumalo was accompanied by team head coach Mr Martin Masheka, assistant coach Ms Tatenda Fungura and the contestants from Zimura High School Theophelus Beans and Flint Shamba.

The delegation flies out at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on Tuesday morning for the competition that will be held at Izmir in Turkey from Wednesday up to Saturday.
