Fourth mining giant officially lists on VFEX Prof Mthuli Ncube

FINANCE and Economic Development Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube, will this Friday preside over the official listing ceremony of Bindura Nickel Corporation (BNC) on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX).

This follows approval by the company’s shareholders to migrate the entity’s shares from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange to VFEX.

The mining company becomes the fourth giant company to list on the foreign currency denominated bourse, which was established last year in October as an offshore financial services centre.

The coming in of big companies to list on the VFEX is a bold indicator of growing investor confidence on the country in response to comprehensive reforms being implemented by the Second Republic.

In a statement, ZSE said BNC listing ceremony will be held at a hotel in Victoria Falls on Friday.

“The guest of honour for the listing ceremony is the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Honourable, Professor Mthuli Ncube,” it said.

In adherence to Covid-19 regulations, ZSE said all delegates will be required to “produce a negative PCR Covid-19 test certificate taken within 48 hours from the event date”, said ZSE.

Two weeks ago, President Mnangagwa presided over the official listing of Caledonia Mining Corporation, a global mining investor, which operates Blanket Mine in Gwanda, Matabeleland South province.

Also listed on VFEX is Seed Co International and Padenga Holdings.

In view of the financing gap for budding businesses, President Mnangagwa has urged small to medium enterprises and other businesses to ride on the opportunities offered by the capital markets to secure investments for their operations.

BNC is a mining company operating mines and a smelter complex in Bindura and is engaged in the mining and extraction of nickel and production of nickel by-products such as copper and cobalt. – @ncubeleon.
