PEOPLE around Zimbabwe today woke up to a spectacle that has got speculations swirling.
There is a ring around the sun.
Called The halo effect; the light ring round the sun – is in short an announcement of the arrival of rain bearing clouds usually the cirrus type which at times are pre-cursors of light to heavy thunderstorms and cyclones.
The halo is a refraction of light from the edges of the cirrus clouds
In African culture, it is said to show that there will be plenty of rain
