A MAN (47) throttled his wife after she asked him to buy ice cream for their daughter.
Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe(NPAZ) said on 29 June at around 10 am the complainant (44) asked her husband, the accused person, to buy ice cream for their daughter, and he claimed he had no money.
“The conversation escalated into an altercation that turned violent wherein the accused person charged towards the complainant and strangled her with his bare hands. The accused person only released the complainant and fled when he heard their neighbours approaching”.
“The accused person was sentenced to pay a fine of US$400 not later than 30 August or three months imprisonment in default of payment. Further, three months were wholly suspended for five years,” said the NPAZ
