FIVE things which are important to human beings

Comfort 

Significance (importance and recognition in life) in our culture: when a younger man happens to be an uncle of an older man, that younger man has to respect people older than him. And yet you will see such people wanting elderly people to greet them first. They desire significance. 

Peace: Every human being desires to live in peace. 

Security 

Protection (especially protection of the heart) Pride: Is a sign of a serious emotional problem. 

What is pride? 

It is low self-esteem every person who is proud has self-pity and an inferiority complex. So these proud people protect themselves by instilling inferiority in others. Pride is when you protect your heart by maintaining inferiority in others. They want to protect themselves because they are inferior inside. Any reaction that you see a human being portraying, like pride, is a sign that they are hurt inside. They are trying to suppress their emotions by behaving in that manner. That is why every proud person tries to walk tall. They are trying, to walk at a level where they are not. They are trying to protect what is inside by bringing weakness into other people. When you see a person doing that you must see a person who does not believe in themselves. Humble people are confident, they have emotional stability. They are not threatened because they are secure, but proud people have no security. How does a person come to this level? Usually, people that are proud had nothing when they grew up: If these people purchase a car they want everyone to see their car. Such people grew up in tough environments with no money and no luxuries. Their fathers struggled to take them to school. Other children would be brought to school in their parent’s fine cars and they would just look on. Some grew up being despised by people. These things enforce this spirit of low self-esteem and it then produces pride. A stepmother was looking down upon them saying that they were ugly and useless. That is why at school they put up their shoulders above the level they are supposed to so that people think they are important. What they are trying to look for is security, protection and significance. So they want to broaden their shoulders to protect their small heart.
