HIGHLANDERS travel to Mutare today to face Bikita Minerals, but coach Kelvin Kaindu has injury worries ahead of the clash. Coming off an impressive 4-0 win over Green Fuel, Bosso aim to secure three crucial points. However, Kaindu is cautious, anticipating a tough encounter.

“Bikita Minerals won’t be easy opponents. We need to stay focused and adapt to their playing style,” said Kaindu.

Highlanders’ injury concerns include Never Rauzhi, Brighton ‘Maninja’ Ncube, Peter Muduhwa, and Godfrey Makaruse who all picked up knocks against Greenfuel but should be available this afternoon though there has been little time for the players to fully recover. Despite these challenges, Kaindu remains optimistic.

“We’re looking to build on our recent momentum,” he added.

“The players are motivated, and we’re ready for the challenge. It is not going to be easy against Bikita Minerals who are fighting relegation, they will fight with everything. We have to be at our best to get a result.”

Bosso will be hoping to build on their Greenfuel victory where their frontline proved effective. Lynoth Chikuhwa scored a hat-trick with all the assists coming from his strike partner, Brighton Ncube.

All eyes will be on Chikuhwa who is the leading goal scorer in the league with 15 goals. He will be hoping to extend his tally and probably win the Golden Boot Award at the end of the season. Ahead of the clash, Highlanders has extended the contract of left-back, Archford Faira till December 2026.

Faira is out of action owing to injury but has been one of the best performers for Highlanders this season.

“We are delighted to announce that Archford Faira has signed a contract extension keeping him at the Club until December 2026,” read a statement from the club.

The mid-week programme has quite several exciting matchups on the cards. While table toppers, Simba Bhora, entertain Arenel movers at Luveve Stadium, defending champions Ngezi Platinum will face Chicken Inn at Barbourfields Stadium in what promises to be an exciting encounter.

Dynamos will make the long trip to Kariba for a date with ZPC Kariba while Herentals will play host to Chegutu Pirates at Rufaro Stadium.

Two matches are scheduled for tomorrow where Manica Diamonds will play host to Yadah Stars at Sakubva Stadium while CAPS United face TelOne at Rufaro Stadium.
