JAH Prayzah’s songs especially Kutonga Kwaro are prophetic and deserve special mention, a senior Pastor has said.

Just like prophets who foresee future events, it seems the songs that Jah Prayzah churns out are visionary politically such as Mudhara Vachauya which loosely translated means the elder is coming.

This elder for some came in the form of President Emmerson Mnangagwa who took over as President last November.

Faith for the Nation chairman Andrew Wutawunashe heaped praise on Jah Prayzah yesterday during the national thanksgiving and dedication service at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair grounds in Bulawayo.

President Mnangagwa was the guest of honour where thousands attended.

ZCC brass band which was one of the groups providing entertainment, at one time played Kutonga Kwaro much to the delight of the congregants.

After their performance Wutawunashe who was the director of ceremonies remarked that Jah Prayzah’s songs have been prophetic.

“Jah Prayzah’s songs need a special mention within the nation as they have been prophetic. The song that was played by the band especially Kutonga Kwaro is one of those. It has been changed a bit in the church as we say instead of Kutonga Kwaro gamba, we say Kutonga Kwaro gamba richi tungamirwa namwari (The hero governs with the help of God),” said Wutawunashe.

Jah Prayzah’s Kutonga Kwaro has been a rallying point for many Zimbabweans during the operation Restore Legacy that was led by the Zimbabwe Defence Forces last month.

After former President Robert Mugabe tendered his resignation, people thronged the streets and Kutonga Kwaro blared out of speakers of cars and bars as people celebrated.
