JUST IN: 15 new Covid-19 cases recorded

ZIMBABWE yesterday recorded an additional 15 new Covid-19 cases and no death as the country continues to roll out the vaccine for the deadly virus to members of the public.

The 15 cases are from locals and were recorded in Harare, Manicaland and Matabeleland South provinces.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC) daily Situation Reports (SITREPs), for the past five days shows that cases have been increasing at an unprecedented rate. As at April 7, 2021, 18 new Covid-19 cases were recorded before they jumped to 68 on April 8, 2021 and 95 new cases on April, 9 2021, bringing the total number of active COVID-19 cases to 781.

As of yesterday active cases stood at 877.

“As at 11 April 2021, Zimbabwe had 37 288 confirmed cases, including 34 873 recoveries and 1 538 deaths. To date, a total of 194 594 people have been vaccinated against Covid-19, said the Ministry.

“We recorded 15 new cases all local and no deaths in the last 24 hours. In terms of the vaccination update: 658 received their 1st dose today bringing cumulative for 1st dose to 194 594 while 101 received their 2nd dose bringing cumulative for 2nd dose to 28 898.”
