UPDATED: Bulawayo cocaine dealer locked up

A 32-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo has been sentenced to nine months in prison after being found with five grammes of cocaine in Gwabalanda suburb.

Ignatious Nkomo was last Sunday searched by detectives following an anonymous tip off and was found in possession of 5g of cocaine which has a street value of USD $400.

Nkomo was convicted on his own plea by Mr Fraklin Mkhwananzi who sentenced him to nine months in prison.

Prosecutor Mr Mafaro Mageza told the court that on Sunday detectives received information that Nkomo was in possession of dangerous drugs.

He said the detective then raided Nkomo’s residence and searched his room. They then recovered six sachets of cocaine weighing 5g leading to his arrest.

In January, a 35-year-old man from the same suburb was sentenced to 18 months in prison after he was found with a gramme of cocaine.

Farai Manja Katiyo was searched by detectives following a tip off and was found in possession of cocaine with  a street value of $80.
