LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Great team of inquiry into post-poll skirmishes picked President Mnangagwa

Editor: The commissioners selected by the President to inquire into post-election violence, in my view, will get vivid primary evidence of the violent protesters who destroyed property and threatened total anarchy in our capital city, following threats by certain political leaders that our country would be made ungovernable if they lost in our free and fair elections.

The violence that occurred several hours before security forces moved in to control the ugly outbreak will constitute primary evidence in the issue. It is very unfortunate that lives were lost.

Meanwhile, we still have certain political leaders refusing to respect our constitutional verdicts on our elections. The leaders still threaten nebulous “other” means of settling their losing grievances. For now we will continue to pray to our Lord God for peace and stability in our nation to enable the necessary economic reforms led by our new visionary leader Cde President Mnangagwa to take root.

We believe our economic reforms in the Second Republic are as necessary as was our land reform in the First Republic led by our former President Cde Mugabe.

We will continue to ensure that our young generation is well taught and properly prepared for future leadership, in line with our founding principles for both political and economic democracy in our free Zimbabwe.
