Low Turnout at PRAZ Affirmative Procurement Guidelines Workshop

A Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ) workshop on affirmative procurement guidelines held at a Bulawayo hotel today experienced a low turnout, with only four special interest groups attending.
The workshop had been organised to engage representatives from groups such as women, youth, the elderly, micro and small enterprises, persons with disabilities, war and liberation struggle veterans, domestic and local contractors, and domestic contractors in joint ventures or sub-contracting with foreign suppliers.
“We were expecting a minimum of 50 participants, as you can see from the seating arrangements we prepared. However, we cannot call off the workshop, so we will proceed with those of you who have attended,” said PRAZ capacity building director, Mr Cliff Gondo.
Despite the low turnout, the workshop went ahead with the aim of empowering participants and addressing challenges related to affirmative procurement.
