AS it is said, “save the best for last”.

After touring four cities, Bulawayo gospel musician, Margret Mwamuka, is set to have her last concert in Bulawayo where fireworks are expected as it will also be her last show for the year.

The musician, popularly referred to as Mai Mwamuka, said after winning a Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards (BAA) award for being the most outstanding gospel artiste this year, she felt the need to celebrate with others by preaching the gospel through music throughout the country.

“Music can change the atmosphere and it can heal the nation. After winning the RoilBAA, I felt the urge to go around the country and preach the Word of God through art,” she said.

Mai Mwamuka, who has performed in Gweru, Victoria Falls and Masvingo, said the Bulawayo show taking place tomorrow at the Family of God Church, will be one not to miss as 22 artistes have been lined up to perform.

“This free event is one of a kind because we have 22 up-and-coming and seasoned gospel artistes. We’ve also invited some artistes who’ve never recorded their songs so that they get a platform to express themselves.”

Dubbed “Highly Lifted up Worship”, the event will feature performances by Lorraine Maplanka Stot, Vocal Ex, Family Voices, Judah, Taaliah, Abigail Mwembe and Vuyo Brown. MCs at the concert that is expected to kick off at 3PM will be comedian Nceku and Lady Tshawe.

“We invite everyone from all walks of life to come and witness the power of God manifesting through music. The show is free of charge,” she said.

Mai Mwamuka added that the show will not be for entertainment only, but to change the lives of people.

“Even if it’s a musical gala, people should also expect their lives to be changed by Christ. I’ll also have time for married couples as I’m a marriage counsellor.

“We’ll also take some time to pray for our nation and most importantly, unite local artistes and encourage teamwork among them.”

If all goes according to plan, the musician hopes to make this musical tour an annual event.

“If we get enough support, we’re going to make this an annual event till Jesus Christ comes,” she said. – @_sizibanigel
