A 45-year-old Bulawayo man who allegedly stabbed his neighbour with a hooked wire used to repair shoes over a misunderstanding had been dragged to court facing attempted murder charges.
Mbuso Ncube of Pumula South suburb appeared before Western Commonage Regional magistrate, Mrs Sibongile Marondedze, who remanded him in custody to March 5.
The incident occurred on 16 February at a car park in Nkulumane and left the victim, Mr Romeo Farai, nursing severe injuries on the chest and a bruised face.
Prosecuting, Ms Christine Manyika, told the court that the incident happened at around 8pm when Ncube started assaulting Mr Farai as he was going home and later on stabbed him twice on the chest.

“As Mr Farai was walking he met Ncube on the way who slapped him and hurled insults. He suddenly took a hooked wire used to repair shoes out of his pockets and stabbed him twice on the left side of the chest,” said Ms Manyika.
Mr Farai is still at Mpilo Central Hospital where he is receiving medical attention.
