Man Jailed 20 years for raping daughter

A 36-YEAR-OLD man from Gwanda has been sentenced to 20 years imprisonment for raping and impregnating his 15-year-old daughter.
It is believed that during February 2024, the accused person entered the complainant’s bedroom while she was sleeping in the presence of her 11-year-old twin sisters. He forcefully got into the complainant’s blankets, covered her mouth and raped her. The accused’s wife was not home at the moment.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), said: “The complainant did not disclose the matter to anyone. The matter came to light when the Police received a tip-off to the effect that the complainant was pregnant. Investigations led to the arrest of the accused person.”
