According to Daily Dispatch, State witness Lwandile Madala testified that Mandela fetched a firearm from his black Toyota double cab after the complainant allegedly insulted his mother.
Magistrate Noluthando Conjwa did admit that there were contradictions to both versions of events, but it did not warrant a dismissal.
Conjwa also stated that Mandela displayed an “exaggerated sense of self”, describing him as “arrogant”, the Herald reported.
In May 2014, Ngudle told the court that since the alleged attack, his speech had been affected, and his doctor had put him on leave in November, December, January, and until June, as he could not cope.
The court has since adjourned while counsels consult the magistrate. – AP
