SOCIALITE and fashionista Mbo Mahocs has relocated to South Africa to seek greener pastures declaring that she is as equally good and talented as the neighbouring country’s television personalities, Mini Dlamini, Bonang and Boity Thulo.

This is not the first time that Mbo Mahocs has gone to South Africa as she did so in 2007 at the height of the economic challenges in Zimbabwe although it did not pan out well for her then.

The Bulawayo-born beauty, who moved to SA two months ago, said she hoped to break into the SA film and television industry.

“I’m as good as Mini Dlamini; I’m as good as Boity and as good as Bonang. So what’s stopping me from getting to that level? There’s nothing impossible, we’re equally talented. I think it’s time I pushed boundaries and took up new challenges. Sometimes we’re comfortable with our space,” said Mbo Mahocs who just completed her architectural studies at the Bulawayo Polytechnic.

She also claimed to have been offered a job opportunity in South Africa that she could not miss.

“The reason why I’m in South Africa is that I’m pursuing my professional career as an architect. I got a job there and it’s a good opportunity I couldn’t miss. On the side, I’m still doing the entertainment bit. It’s a challenge because it’s a new place and people don’t know me, it’s breaking new ground,” said Mbo Mahocs.

“The time when we were doing those fashion shows in Durban with Gilmore, we developed a lot of contacts. I think it’s high time that we get into the international scene. I want bigger and better.”

The fashionista said while in South Africa she would venture into business.

“I hope to grow as an artiste and venture into business on arts and hope to learn a lot from that experience. I draw a lot of inspiration from Mafikizolo’s Nhlanhla Nciza who has a clothing line. I’m yet to meet her to venture into that type of businesses,” said Mbo Mahocs.

“It’s the people we look up to that we can learn from so these are some of the things that I’ll be doing there.”
