For years, President Mugabe has been a beacon of hope for the people of Zimbabwe and through his leadership the country has made significant strides in various sectors.

Through his bravery, President Mugabe has inspired millions.

Speaking in separate interviews with Chronicle recently, leaders from Matabeleland region congratulated the President on his 93rd birthday.

Minister of State for Matabeleland North Provincial Affairs Ambassador Cain Mathema congratulated the President saying the youth have a lot to learn from him.

“Happy birthday to our dear President! We hope the youth will learn from him and emulate his person, integrity and determination. I hope that the youth may also learn to be consistent like the President is,” said Ambassador Mathema.

He said youths should aspire to be as educated as the President.

“Our President is very educated. I urge all youths to aspire to be educated, especially those youths who’ve been given positions in the party, they should work towards being degree holders and wise leaders like the President,” said Ambassador Mathema.

Bulawayo Provincial Affairs Minister Cde Eunice Nomthandazo Moyo praised the President’s leadership skills which she said have matured with his age.

“From the time of his youth up to now, he dedicated himself to serving the nation. We thank him for the unity that he has managed to uphold and encourage in the country. Our country is like no other as some countries have wars and fights. May God look after him so that he may continue with his peaceful reign,” said Cde Moyo.

She urged the nation to emulate the President’s stance on unity and desist from discrimination based on tribal lines.

Member of Parliament for Makokoba constituency and War Veterans Affairs Minister, Retired Colonel Tshinga Dube said President Mugabe’s leadership is incomparable to any other.

“We congratulate His Excellency on his 93rd birthday. He has done so much for the well-being of our people. He introduced various milestones in our education and farming systems among others. Our independence would not have been complete without him ensuring Zimbabweans got land. I’d like to commend him for the education privileges he introduced for the benefit of our youngsters. Now we’re known to have the highest literacy rate in Africa. May the Lord give him good health and more days to reign,” said Rtd Col Dube.

Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs Abednico Ncube commended the Zanu-PF Youth League for the progress they have made in organising the 21st February Movement celebrations to be held in the province on February 25.

“We’re very proud of our President. He has done a lot for us. Many people in this country now own land. We’ve doctors that have trained in other countries such as Cuba, Venezuela and other Latin American States through his benevolence and wisdom. We owe all our achievements to His Excellency. In times of drought, I’ve never heard of anyone who died of hunger,” said Cde Ncube.
