BULAWAYO Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube has urged individuals, companies and developmental organisation to compliment Government efforts in improving people’s lives.
She said this during a briefing on the side-lines of the ongoing small and medium enterprises (SMEs) start and improve your business (SIYB) training organised by International Labour Organisation in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development.
The Minister said organisations should come in handy to respond to SMEs needs including establishment of facilities and infrastructure to preserve and value addition products to avoid post-harvest losses.
“The ministries, development partners and other companies should come in handy to support people’s initiatives,” said Minister Ncube.
She said people have bright ideas but there is need for support to nurture and develop these initiatives.
“Let’s empower our young people especially those in cutting and polishing of different minerals, those who want to do textile and clothing and those who want to be in the agriculture sector, let them be and support them,” she said.
“Let’s carry out our research and respond to these young people with bright ideas.”
She also said, for the revival of some industries in Bulawayo there is need to put heads together and present this to the Government for approval and assistance.
She therefore said the ongoing SIYB training should benefit young people and women for the benefit of the city and the nation at large.
